A United States of America-based lawyer, Femi Ogunjumelo, has congratulated Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his inauguration and swearing-in as the 7th democratically-elected governor of Ondo State.
Governor Aiyedatiwa was sworn in on Monday alongside his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami.
Barrister Ogunjumelo, an indigene of the state, in a press statement he personally signed and made available to the public on Wednesday, called on the people of the state to throw their weight behind the Governor so that he can pilot the affairs of the state for the benefit of the majority of the people.
The lawyer, who hails from Igbotako in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state, said the 16 November 2024 election that ushered in Governor Aiyedatiwa was unprecedented in the annals of the political history of the state given the resounding victory he recorded in all the 18 local government areas of the state.
It will be recalled that Governor Aiyedatiwa, who contested on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), won in all the council areas of the state.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has a historic mandate on his hand. It’s quite unique and unprecedented. No one before him has ever done. He is indeed lucky, as his name implies.
“The all-round victory he pulled up in all the 18 local government areas in the election speaks to the sort of love and massive goodwill His Excellency enjoys from the people of the state,” Barrister Ogunjumelo said.
The US-based lawyer and philanthropist appealed to the Governor to do everything within his means to ensure that he justifies the confidence reposed in him by the electorate by delivering impactful dividends of democracy to the people
