Scholarships for Foreign and Local Studies
Senator Lawan’s scholarship initiatives have been transformative, particularly for a total of 236 students from Yobe North. His interventions include:
– Thirty (30) PhD scholarships for students to study at foreign universities, enabling them to acquire advanced knowledge and contribute to Nigeria’s academic and professional sectors.
– Sixty-two (62) Masters scholarships for students to pursue postgraduate degrees abroad, broadening their exposure to global best practices.
– Five (5) Full Undergraduate Scholarships for students in foreign universities, giving them access to world-class education.
– Fourty-eight (48) PhD scholarships for students in Nigerian universities, strengthening local research and academic excellence.
– Eighty-three (83) Masters scholarships for students in Nigerian universities, enhancing their professional qualifications.
– Eight (8) full Undergraduate scholarships for students in Nigerian universities, easing the financial burden of tertiary education.
Long-Term Educational Support
Beyond one-time scholarships, Senator Lawan has consistently supported students in Yobe North through:
– Annual Scholarships for 3,500 Students (2008–2019). This sustained financial aid helped thousands of students cover tuition and other academic expenses, ensuring continuity in their education.
– UTME and Direct Entry Forms for 4,000 Students Annually from 2008 to 2019. By covering examination fees, he removed financial barriers for students seeking admission into tertiary institutions.
