Saturday poll: Nasarawa South Resolves To Deliver Engineer Sule, APC Candidates

…As Senator Al-makura Reaffirms Support For Incumbent Governor

Stakeholders from across Nasarawa South senatorial district, have resolved to deliver Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, as well as all house of assembly candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), during this Saturday’s guber/assembly election.

At a meeting convened by the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura, which held at the Taal Conference Hotel, on Tuesday, stakeholders from the zone reaffirmed their commitment to ensure that the ruling APC retains the governorship seat, as well as its dominance at the state assembly.

In his opening remarks, Senator Al-makura stressed the importance of the ruling party retaining the governorship seat, adding that, that will afford the incumbent the opportunity to complete the projects he has lined up for the state.

According to Senator Al-makura, there won’t be APC without Nasarawa State, as such it has become imperative for the people rise up to the challenge by ensuring that the party clinches the governirship seat, as well as the 24 seats at the state House of Assembly.

The former governor particularly called on the people to put aside their emotions regarding the outcome of the presidential and national assembly election and to mobilize massively to vote for Engineer Sule and the APC.

He also cautioned the stakeholders against the antics of the opposition who are bent on using fake news to cause confusion among members of the ruling party.

This is just as Senator Al-makura equally urged the people to shun politics of religion or ethnicity, adding that, the only way forward is to reelect Engineer Sule who has demonstrated competence and has the capacity to bring development and progress to the state.

In his remarks, Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, appreciated Senator Al-makura for the maturity, faith and leadership, in calling for the meeting, especially against the backdrop of the fallout of the presidential and national assembly election.

Engineer Sule equally used the opportunity to thank the national chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, for convening similar meeting in Keffi, which afforded him the opportunity to also address the Nasarawa West stakeholders.

The Governor said it’s time for members of the APC to come out and work hard in order to ensure the victory of the party in the coming election.

“For that reason, we cannot deceive ourselves if we want to win that election. We have seen a lot of things that happened in the last election and I am sure from the campaign council, to the party, to everyone of us, we are making corrections. But the corrections will not happen until we are united together into a formidable force,” he stated.

A speaker representing each of the five local government areas making up the zone, assured both the Governor and Senator Al-makura of their readiness and commitment to deliver the APC in the coming election.

On his part, state Secretary of the APC, Hon. Aliyu Bello, warned that, with the way religious leaders are making incursion into politics, soon the genuine politicians will run out of work.

Hon. Bello therefore tasked politicians not to allow religious leaders to take over their jobs but to ensure they are confined to Churches and Mosques where they are much needed.

The APC scribe used the opportunity to called on all political appointees of the ruling party, to justify their appointments by monitoring closely the election process, urging them accompany their votes across polling unit, ward, local government and state collation centres.
