The Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has sworn in Prof. Ibibia Lucky-Worika as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), urging him to bring his vast expertise to bear in advancing governance in the state.
The event, held at the Executive Chambers of Government House, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday evening, is part of ongoing efforts to stabilize governance and restore public trust.
Retired Vice Admiral Ibas described Prof. Worika’s appointment as a strategic move to uphold law, order, and good governance in Rivers State.
“The task ahead is onerous, but your track record leaves no doubt that you will prove your mettle. Rivers State needs your intellect, grit, and unwavering dedication,” he said.
With Prof. Worika’s background in law, policy, and international governance, the administrator expressed confidence in his ability to align state policies with the administration’s stabilization agenda.
Ibas emphasized the importance of teamwork, urging the new SSG to work closely with civil servants to maintain government efficiency.
“You have no time to settle down. Roll up your sleeves and get to work. Our civil servants are critical stakeholders in ensuring that the state continues to function effectively,” he added.
The administrator reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, accountability, and service, calling for the full support of the civil service in achieving the administration’s objectives.
