The President Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya has charged members of the association to remain focused on the ideals of the association, effectively manage its reputation and sustain its vision as leaders.
Mrs Yahaya gave the charge today, 21 September 2021, at the NAOWA National secretariat when the Chairperson NAOWA 1 Division Chapter Mrs Jemila Muktar, paid her a courtesy visit.
Mrs Salamatu congratulated Mrs Mukhtar on the appointment of her husband as the Thirty-Eighth (38) General Officer Commanding 1 Division, noting that she had become a “Stallion Queen”, as her husband is now “Stallion King”. She assured her of her support, while also noting that all the updates on the activities of the chapter were in line with her vision which is, “Sustaining Legacies and Upholding the Tenets of Unity and Service.”
Mrs Yahaya also noted that most of the executive of 1 Division Chapter were people who had worked previously with her during her tenure as the Chairperson with good commendations and urged them to encourage other members along the career progression to grow in leadership, as nothing is permanent and the legacy left behind would speak volumes. She prayed Almighty God to help all spouses in achieving and recording all the successes required during their career and work.
Speaking earlier, the Chairperson NAOWA 1 Division Chapter, Mrs Jemila Mukhtar, appreciated the legacy left behind by the President NAOWA during her tenure as the Chairperson of the halter, which is one of the key guides to the successes currently being recorded and enjoyed as the present Chairperson of the chapter.
Mrs Mukthar eulogized the President NAOWA as a Queen mother, a goal-getter, and an achiever, worthy of emulation.
Mrs Muktar aslo assured the President NAOWA of her Chapter’s total support in achieving all her desired goals, while also appreciating the Chief of Army Staff for finding her husband worthy to be the GOC 1 Division Nigerian Army. She also assured the President NAOWA that having gone round the facilities at the chapter, she will sustain and improve on the legacies, adding that the Chapter was lucky to have had her (Mrs Yahaya) as a past Chairperson and presently the President of the Association.
Highlights of the visit were presentation of souvenirs and gift items, signing of visitors’ book, dance performances and group photographs.
