President Bola Tinubu has vowed to bring justice to the victims of recent violent attacks in Plateau State, stressing that the gunmen responsible will be apprehended and punished under the full extent of the law. The President condemned the brutal killings in communities across Plateau, describing such acts of violence as intolerable in a nation striving to restore peace and stability.
In a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed his deep sorrow over the recent attacks, which targeted defenceless citizens in areas such as Ruwi, Hurti, Tadai in Bokkos Local Government, as well as Manguna and Dafo villages. These attacks have resulted in loss of life and destruction of property, sparking widespread outrage.
The President extended his condolences to the grieving families of the victims and urged Nigerians to unite in the face of tragedy, rejecting violence and retaliation. He called for a collective effort to foster peace and stability, emphasizing the importance of shared humanity across all ethnic, religious, and political lines.
President Tinubu also expressed solidarity with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, offering support in efforts to curb the violence. He directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with state authorities in providing immediate relief to victims and helping the affected communities recover.
