… Assures of N20m Scholarship, Rebuilds Iconic Presbyterian Church

A prominent Nigerian philanthropist and founder of Unubiko Foundation, Chief Ume James has donated a multimillion naira edifice, a state-of-the-art school to the Abia State Government.
The project was one his many voluntary contributions to educational development of communities in need.
It would be recalled that Ume commissioned a multi-million Magistrate Court at Amaelu Abam a week ago, to the excitement of professional lawyers of the State.
Reports also confirmed he is now placing priority attention to boosting the fortunes of educational sector. To demonstrate such determination he begun with the commissioning of the Ovukwu Abam Secondary School in Atan Abam, Abia State on Sunday December 25, 2022. Some observers in the community described the gesture as a Christnas gift as well from an illustrious citizen.
The school project, which was reportedly abandoned for over 70 years, is now a completed modern edifice with various modern facilities.
Reports also showed that “the last time some of the buildings were renovated was over 20 years ago”, until his voluntary intervention commenced.
Prior to his intervention, according to our findings the buildings had collapsed.
To further demonstrate his unwavering effort to tackle the worrisome number of out-of-school children in the area, the philanthropist assured the people of N20m scholarship grant.
Dr Alex Otti, the Labour Party Gubernatorial candidate in Abia State while speaking at the event, reportedly encouraged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the man by taking on challenges of educational development.
“The Unubiko Founder who is also the Publisher of THE WHITSLER also handed over the reconstructed Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Atan Abam Parish.
The Church was first planted in 1919 by Chief Eme Nkugba, a trader in present day Akwa Ibom State”, said a recent development report.
