The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said that a circular published on some social media platforms announcing the date for the next mobilisation of Prospective Corps Members is fake.
In a statement signed by Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, the NYSC Director, Press, and Public Relations on Wednesday in Abuja, the scheme described the circular as “fake and misleading”.
The scheme advised the public to disregard the circular in its entirety and ensure that they get all NYSC related information directly from the scheme’s social media platforms, print, and electronic media.
“The attention of NYSC Management has been drawn to a fake circular with the caption “2021 BATCH “C” STREAM II ORIENTATION COURSE” which is making the rounds on the social media.
“This circular is purported to have emanated from the scheme.
“Paragraph two of the fake and very misleading circular reads: “All Potential Corps Members (PCMs) that had registered between 13th and 15th of November to kindly go to their State NYSC Office on Friday, 19th November, 2021 to verify their thumbprint and reappend their signature to avoid cancellation of documents in the camp.
“Members of the public, particularly prospective corps members, who the originators of the fake circular referred to as potential corps members are strongly advised to disregard the fake circular in all its entirety,” the statement said.
The statement said that as earlier publicised by the scheme, the 2021 Batch “C” Stream II registration of prospective corps members will take place from Nov. 24 to Nov. 28.
According to the statement, the swearing-in of prospective corps members will take place on Nov. 30 while the orientation course will hold nationwide from Nov. 24 to Dec. 14, 2021.
The statement said that the orientation course for the 2021 Batch “C” Stream II set of corps members will end on Dec. 14.(NAN)
