Nasarawa Governor Loses Top Aide, Political Ally

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has lost one of his closest political ally and the Governor’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Hon. Murtala Lamus, who passed away early Tuesday.

Governor Sule, in a tribute signed by his chief press secretary, Mallam Ibrahim Addra, issued on Tuesday, described the late Hon. Lamus, who also doubles as the Dokajin Wamba, as a quiet but consummate politician, grassroots mobilizer and patriot who left no one in doubt on his love for Nasarawa State.

Engineer Sule, who joined in the funeral rites of the late Hon. Lamus, in company of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, in Wamba, expressed shock over the demise of his long time friend and political associate.

According to the statement, the Governor equally condoled with the family of the deceased, where he urged them to take consolation in the fact that the late Hon Lamus lived a worthy life as exemplified by testimonies and the large turn out of mourners in Wamba his country home.

He prayed for Allah to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
