Lent: Tinubu Urges Christians to Extend A Helping Hand To The Needy

President Bola Tinubu urges Nigerian Christians to embrace the love of Jesus Christ by showing compassion and empathy to those in need.

President Tinubu made the appeal in a statement on Thursday, extending his heartfelt wishes to the Christians in Nigeria.

The Lenten season, the 40-day period, is a time of fasting, prayer, and repentance, preparing believers for the joyous celebration of Easter, commenced with the Ash Wednesday yesterday.

The President noted that this period of reflection coincides with encouraging progress in Nigeria, highlighting that the nation ended 2024 positively as it economy showed strong growth in the last quarter compared to the same period in 2023.

President Tinubu also added that “Food prices are declining, the exchange rate is stabilising, fuel prices are dropping, and Nigeria’s internal security is strengthening citing various commendable strides by by the Nigerian armed forces and law enforcement agencies . This progress fills us with steadfast hope and optimism for the future.”

The president then prayed for God’s kindness which will bring healing to the sick, prosperity to Nigerians and peace to the nation.
