The Christian Support Group for Tinubu/Shettima (CSGTS)Kebbi state wing, has drummed up support for the APC presidential ticket on the basis of the competence and pedigree of the ticket holders and not on tribal, regional or religious considerations.
The group which sent a delegation of some executive members on a solidarity visit to APC Presidential Campaign Council member, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK (Maibindiga) in his residence in Birnin Kebbi today, said the belief that the APC ticket was an affront on Christians lacked merit or grounds.
The Secretary of the group Atom Turba Ishaku and the Organizing Secretary Yusuf Kwanchi who led the delegation, remarked that membership of the group is state wide with zonal headquarters in Zuru, Yauri and Birnin Kebbi m. The zones serve as headquarters for other local government areas.
Atom Turba Ishaku in particular reasoned that Nigerians should look at the bigger picture and the benefits that would accrue to the country if Tinubu and Shettima become President and Vice President at this time that courage, competence and ability are required to bring about growth.
He noted that there is a distinction between Christians in politics and Christian groups such as the Christian Association of Nigeria. He explained that the CSGTS consist of Christians who are into politics and who profess support for the APC and its presidential candidate.
Responding, the host Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed said elections are already here and told the delegation that time is of essence, urging them to redouble efforts to ensure that their members are brought on board to ensure success at the polls.
He assured them that their contribution would be recognized while their yearnings for good governance, peace, economic and infrastructural development would be prioritized by a federal government led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Other members on the delegation are David Dan Azumi and Philip Paul.
