The 17-kilometer stretch of road from Kamba to Banizumbu in Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi state that is under construction has reached 40% completion stage.
Its construction started in January this year. Awarded by the Dr. Nasir Idris’s administration, the road is an economic corridor intended to link up economically viable communities on an axis that holds potentiality for economic growth and food security for Kebbi state, some border communities and the nation at large.
Kwakkwasa and Sarhu are two main communities inbetween Kamba and Banizumbu that are expected to benefit from the road to improve trade, increase agricultural and livestock production and open up the areas up to Niger republic to stimulate more activity and enhance food security.
It has been a deliberate policy of the Dr. Idris’s administration to spread development to all the nooks and crannies of Kebbi state by evenly and equitable distribution of critical infrastructure to kick start economic revival for development.
During a visit to the construction site today, as he led a team of visiting journalists, Commissioner of Information and Culture Yakubu Ahmed BK emphasized the commitment of the APC administration in Kebbi state to the development of the state with emphasis on moving the state forward.
He noted that roads and other infrastructure are currently being provided in various parts of the state to improve capacity for growth.
He assured that the same level of enthusiasm, vision and courage with which Dr Nasir Idris has been known for, will continue to push the levers of development until Kebbi is finally put on the path of sustainable development.
