Innocence and Smile That Melt Hearts Why I Cried

By Yakubu Ahmed-BK

Imagine she’s your daughter, held captive by bandits for upward of 3 months. And she’s indeed the daughter of all of us, one way or the other.

One of the Yauri students released yesterday. Behold the innocence, the heart-melting smile and see the irrationality and senselessness of subjecting her and others to what they went through.

The tears can’t just stop rolling. How can we not cry when these girls and boys’ tribulation is a risk we all are vulnerable to? My heart ached and bled. Allah yayi mana mafita.
