Gov Zulum Assented To Borno State 2022 Appropriation Bill, Child protection Bill and VAP Act

In a brief ceremony this morning, the Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum Mni Fnse Signed the Borno State 2022 Appropriation Bill, Borno State Child Protection Act and Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act.

In his opening Remarks the Borno State Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General Barrister Kaka Shehu Lawan said, the occasion is unique and an important one to the Judicial and Legal Sector as the 2022 state Approbation Bill, Child protection Act and Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act are being assented to and domesticated. He added that, the signing of the Bills by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum Mni Fnse is a manifestation of his zeal and passion to deliver good governance.

The Speaker Borno State House of Assembly Rt Honorable Abdulkareem Lawan in his remarks said 2022 Appropriation bill was presented to the House by the Governor on the 30th of November 2021 where it passed Through all legislative stages and was passed with adjustment of an increase of 1.7bn. For the Child Protection Act and Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, the Speaker explained that it has also passed through the same process with wide consultation of citizens via public hearing.

In his remarks after assenting to the Bills, the Governor appreciated the continues support of the House of Assembly, while acknowledging that their support to his administration is critical to the achievement and Success of the govt. He assured them of a sustainable and cordial relationship throughout his tenure.
