In a major push to formalize land ownership in the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Administration (FCTA) has announced the reopening of the land document regularisation process for Area Council landowners. The exercise, which officially resumes on April 21, 2025, offers eligible applicants the chance to secure a Statutory Right of Occupancy (R-of-O)—a critical step toward obtaining full legal land titles.
Approved by the Honourable Minister of the FCT, the initiative targets individuals who had previously submitted their documentation during earlier phases of the regularisation drive. According to the Department of Land Administration, this is not a fresh application window but a continuation of the existing vetting process.
Only vetted and approved applicants will receive Letters of Offer and be billed for the accompanying Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O), marking a significant milestone in land administration and property rights within the Area Councils.
This renewed effort underscores the FCTA’s commitment to transparency, proper land governance, and empowering landowners with legally recognized titles that open access to investment and development opportunities.
