Engineer Sule Charges Banks To Make More Cash Available To Customers In Lafia

Worried by the presence of long queues at the banks, Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, undertook an unscheduled assessment of banks operating in Lafia, the state capital, where he charged officials of the banks to make more money available for customers to access.

Engineer Sule undertook the assessment visit at selected branches of some banks in Lafia, on Monday.

While expressing displeasure over the difficulties being encountered by bank customers who are subjected to following long queues, the Governor decried the situation where only one ATM machine is allowed to operate.

Engineer Sule, who undertook the assessment visit to Zenith Bank, Access Bank, FCMB and First Bank, charged officials of the banks to make more money available for the customers to access.

He called on the officials to ensure that more money is made available at their branches, as well as POS agents, in order to cushion the hardship being faced by the people.

Engineer Sule was barely returning to the state after attending the meeting convened by the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where both the APC and governors under the platform of the party, resolved to call on the Attorney General of the Federation and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, to obey the interim order issued by the Supreme Court, restraining the Federal Government from banning the use of the old N1000 and N500 notes.
