EFCC: NAHCON Boss Grateful for Support

The Reporters

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has expressed heartfelt gratitude to its supporters and well-wishers following the invitation of its Chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning.

A statement released by NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Fatima Sanda Usara, described the outpouring of love and concern from friends and well-wishers as “amazing”.

The EFCC invitation, which was extended to the NAHCON Chairman on July 30th, was in connection with the conduct of the 2024 Hajj. However, the Commission has reassured stakeholders that the invitation was a normal process aimed at safeguarding public interest, and not an indictment.

NAHCON has pledged to cooperate fully with the EFCC and any other investigative body during this process, reiterating its commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics in its dealings.

The Commission also commended the Federal Government for its resolve to entrench accountability in the system, as well as the EFCC’s strong commitment to safeguarding public funds through ethical practices and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

With this development, NAHCON has reaffirmed its dedication to transparency, lawful, and ethical standards, assuring pilgrims and stakeholders that their interests remain a top priority.

As the investigation unfolds, NAHCON has urged its supporters to remain calm and confident, assuring them that the matter will be resolved promptly and in accordance with the law.
