The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded the rights to host the 2025 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) and the Egyptian Government. This decision follows the announcement by the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) and the Government of Côte d’Ivoire that, due to unforeseen circumstances, they are unable to host the tournament as initially planned.
Egypt, which had previously submitted a bid to host the prestigious youth football tournament, will now take on the responsibility of organizing the event. The tournament is set to kick off on Sunday, April 27, 2025, with the final match scheduled for May 18, 2025.
This development marks a significant moment for Egyptian football as the country prepares to welcome top African youth teams for what promises to be an exciting competition.
