It gives me great joy and delight to warmly rejoice with a rare gem: a professional, highly trained Engineer who has demonstrated his versatility in whatever he does; indeed, his eminent contributions to the engineering profession are well recognized and certainly acknowledged.
It’s the dream of every practicing Engineer to attend the pinnacle of his career. Your journey to the zenith of your career was exceptional for the simple fact that you worked assiduously sir. Your invaluable contribution to the energy industry and the development of our country is superb. The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) made the right nomination at this juncture.
It is only a few who begin as young engineers and progress to the pinnacle of their careers as fellows; indeed, it is through vision, diligence, and consistency that has propelled you to scale through your footprint in Dangote, Alstom Power (Switzerland), General Electric (GE), and now ED Generation.
Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) is a Nigerian power holding company.
You have distinguished yourself as a true son of Kano. Continue to stand tall and make Nigeria proud.
The BUK graduate and Cranfield-trained mechanical Engineer is noted for his “creativity, hard work, discipline,” and, most significantly, his generosity to everyone who crosses his path. His role as a youthful Executive Director generation in the NDPHC, which President Muhammadu Buhari appointed him to, did not make him look down on others or create the impression that he was better than his childhood pals. but instead, took the chance to assist in the development of the power sector and provide a helping hand to anyone as long as he is in the perspective.
This, however, validates what U.S. President Abraham Lincoln once said, “If you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” My man received a passing grade because he was not motivated by the privileges associated with his position but rather maintained his position and worked diligently with the competent team to provide the desired result.
Your admirable character and compassion for others, of course, show that you have a unique talent for solving problems; you provide support at the most crucial times; and you again navigate a social situation easily and flexibly with an open mind and a high sense of humor. As the ED-GEN, your stewardship has been nothing short of extraordinary. Indeed, no machine can do the work of this quintessential gentleman.
The company is excelling through teamwork and your unparalleled proficiency to revolutionize and inspire. No doubt, you are setting a remarkable record in the face of seemingly insurmountable tasks.
I have a firm belief that you won’t rest on your oars until Nigeria achieves sufficient growth in the power sector; certainly, that’s the only way our country will attain its full potential through massive industrialization.
Lastly, let me congratulate Engr Kasim Abdullahi, FNSE, an indefatigable, tenacious, administrative guru, and astute engineer, as you are confirmed in the highest position of Fellow of Engineers.
