The Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has unveiled a vision tagged A Ten Year Development Blueprint for the State. This is capped in a comprehensive document known as the Benue State Development Plan 2025 – 2034.
The plan according to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Tersoo Kula represents the Governor’s strategy aimed at bringing about durable growth, development and inclusive governance in Benue state.
The plan amongst other things seeks to unlock the full potential of human and natural resources meant to ensure profitability for all residents of the state.
While acknowledging that the state is endowed with immense agricultural potential and a hardworking population, Governor Alia regretted that in spite of all those potential, the state faces many challenges and has suffered from years of neglect resulting in infrastructure shortfalls, unemployment, mismanagement of public resources and the menace of insecurity among others.
The statement adds that the Governor’s immediate drive is to tackle these challenges head-on based on his seven point development pillars of security of lives and property, agriculture and rural development, commerce and industry, infrastructure development and environment, human capital development, information and communications technology as well as political and economic governance.
